Common questions

How do I start?

Select text on any page and click the small moon at the end of your selection (or press Alt+L). The first time, Luna asks you to sign in with Google — your first 10 translations are free.

What do the plans include?

Both are sold on Gumroad: Luna Pro · Luna Own Key.

I bought a plan but Luna still says Free.

If you bought with the same email you sign in to Luna with, it unlocks by itself within a minute — open Luna's settings and it updates. Bought with a different email? Copy the license key from your Gumroad receipt into Luna → Settings → Plan → License key.

How do I switch between Own Key and Pro?

Buy the other plan with the same email — Luna links it by itself and always uses the better one. Upgrading to Pro takes effect right away; then cancel your Own Key membership on Gumroad if you don't need it. Moving to Own Key: buy it, then cancel Pro; Pro keeps working until the end of the month you paid for, and Luna switches to Own Key by itself. Luna → Settings → Plan → Memberships shows which one is in use.

Is my OpenAI key safe?

On the Own Key plan your key stays in Luna's private storage in your browser — web pages can't read it — and is sent only to OpenAI, never to Luna's server. It isn't synced or exported, and signing out of Luna removes it from the browser. For extra peace of mind, create the key in its own OpenAI project with a monthly budget.

How do I cancel?

Your membership is managed on Gumroad: open your Gumroad library, choose Luna, and cancel. It keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. Removing the extension doesn't cancel it.

Luna translates into the wrong language.

Click the language button in Luna's toolbar (for example "ES → RU"): From fixes the language of the text, Into picks where translations go (★ Closest lets Luna choose whichever of your languages keeps the original most recognizable), and I know adds the languages you speak.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account removes your account, saved words and usage history from Luna's server. See the privacy policy for everything Luna stores.
